The ELP Scholarship which started out as Mike Okonkwo Foundation' (MOF) scholarship is an annual event, which is basically for financially challenged but gifted children in our society; children whose parents cannot afford to cater for their education. The scholarship is not limited to the children in the church but is open to the general public. This is in the Foundation’s bid to 'Empower the Less Privileged' and bring succour to these children thereby making them socially responsible as citizens of this nation.

The first scholarship awards were given out on the 14th of February, 2004. The group of children that benefited from this gesture were all children of Police Officers. A total number of 8 students from various institutions of higher learning and in various fields, benefited from this award. Specific amounts will be given to these students yearly to pursue their dreams until they finish from the institutions. At the end of every year, they are required to forward their results to the ELP Foundation for proper monitoring and record purposes.
