Deaconess Harriet Nkechi Akubuiro, an indigene of Imo State, was born in Kano State, 50 years ago. She attended the College of Education (Technical), Akoka, Lagos, where she obtained a National Certificate of Education (NCE) in Business Education. Mrs. Akubuiro is also an alumnus of the University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos where she had bagged a B.Sc. degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management.
When the whole world was shifting to Information Technology, Deaconess Akubuiro, in order not to be left out, enrolled at the Yaba College of Technology’s Computer department and obtained a Diploma in Basic Computer Studies. Not yet done with education, she is currently rounding up a Doctorate degree in Business Administration.
Mrs Akubuiro, a fellow of the Institute of Certified Professional Managers of Nigeria, is also an Examiner for both WAEC and JAMB. She is also an examiner and member, Board of Studies of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), to mention a few.
She is a member of Council of the Chartered Institute of Administrators of Nigeria, CIA, member of the Federal Government team on the Evaluation of the activities of Professional Institutes in Nigeria i.e. ICAN, NIM, CIA, CIPM etc. and a member, Federal Government team on Polytechnics’ Accreditation and Resource Inspections.
A devout Christian and a deaconess of The Redeemed Evangelical Mission (TREM), Mrs. Nkechi Akubuiro is a member of the following departments at the Church headquarters where she worships:

Presently, she is the Head of Department of Business Administration & Management , Yaba College of Technology, Yaba, Lagos.
Mrs Nkechi Akubuiro’s hobbies includes reading of articles and journals. She is married to Engineer G. O. Akubuiro and they are blessed with children
